Restores from SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2005 work fine. We are using SQL Server 2005 A client of ours did a back up and restore of a database which we have created a db master key as well as asymmetric, symmetric keys and certificates. I have recently upgraded this server to SQL server 2012, and now I am getting an error when restoring master from SQL Server 2008 R2. I have a process that restores all my backups on a centralized server for testing.
